Where can I find the latest information about COVID-19 and how it’s affecting the Residential Life experience?
Can I move into another room?
Starting Feb. 22, you may request room moves for any reason.
We will prioritize moves needed for health, safety and accountability. All other requests will be approved as space becomes available — meaning if we don’t have a room that meets your request, we can’t approve your request until such a room is available. While we aim to take care of these requests, COVID-19 mitigation measures may cause the process to take longer than expected.
Can I have visitors?
To limit opportunities for close contact, visitors to Residential Life facilities are currently restricted. These restrictions will be continuously assessed and revised in phases throughout the 2020–21 academic year. Progression through these phases is based on the status of COVID-19 in our community and the recommendations of health experts.
At this time, the following individuals may enter Residential Life facilities and must follow current MU safety guidelines and expectations:
- A building's assigned occupants
- Students from other Residential Life facilities
- Essential MU employees
- Approved external service providers (including, but not limited to, delivery services and maintenance contractors)
Visitors from off campus (including family members and students living in Greek housing) are not allowed in Residential Life facilities.
Will students living in double rooms still have roommates?
Yes. You and your roommate will be responsible for keeping your room a clean and healthy environment — similar to your responsibilities at home.
Will there still be opportunities to build community and get involved?
Yes! We are evaluating all residential programming to limit group sizes while still offering plenty of opportunities to build community and get involved.
Can I move off campus mid-year?
If you’re not a first-year student, you may cancel your contract without penalty if you leave campus to study abroad, to attend another school, withdraw or for other academic reasons. If you’re unsure, give us a call at 573-882-7275 or email@example.com.
Please be aware that university policy requires first-time college students to live in Residential Life residence facilities. If you are a first-time college student, your contract is for a complete academic year. All residents who have signed a legal contract are required to fulfill their responsibilities.
I have another question not answered above.
